Mike Oldfield is one of the musical phenomenas of the 20th century. Originally signed to Virgin Records in 1973, his first album, Tubular Bells, raced to the top of the charts and has subsequently sold over 10 million copies. To a large extent he secured the survival of the label, and with his Virgin catalogue of 14 studio and 2 live albums, recorded when Mike was at his creative prime, he established himself as part of Rock's aristocracy.

In Mike's assault on the music world the visual medium was always important and promo films for hit singles such as Portsmouth, Guilty and In Dolci Jubilo all helped with Mike's success. He was also a unique performer with his live shows creating as much of a buzz as the music being played.

All these aspects are drawn together on this single DVD - Elements - The Best Of Mike Oldfield. All of his Virgin single promo films are included on the package along with the very rare 2nd House BBC TV performance of Tubular Bells Part 1, which featured Steve Hillage and Mick Taylor amongst others. The bonus material includes Wind Chimes which is the virtual reality video album of the Islands LP featuring the tracks The Wind Chimes, North Point, Islands, The Time Has Come, Flying Start and Magic Touch. Space Movie shows Incantations Part 1 set to archive footage of N.A.S.A. and Soviet rocket flights. Also included is the original EPK for the first edition of CD best of Elements.
